Event 1 - LOG LIFT - rising weight, starting at 90kg on our giant 18" dia log. Scored - Max weight obtained, last man standing.

Event 2 - DEADLIFT - 240kg deadlift on Oly bar, ( will be truck tyres on bar and competitor stood on platform ). Scored - max no of reps in 90 Seconds.

Event 3 - CARRYING MEDLEY - Will be a mixture of beer barrels, Large blue barrels, and Fork truck tyre drag. Scored - distance over time.

Break For Lunch.

Event 4 - ARM OVER ARM VAN PULL - Vito sized van pulled up hill by rope, arm over arm. Scored - distance over time.

Event 5 - STONES / BARREL LOADING - 4 Items to be loaded onto platform. Scored - items loaded over time.

Everything went fantastically today, here the the final standings;

The Day Before the Horror...............

Guys, the Kit for the comps has been broken and all moved around the Yard, so today and tomorrow morning has and will be a challenge, I'm not a fuckin happy and slightly stressed bunny today.

The venue looks great, we are in the same place as last year, its bloody wet, so events may change slightly, esp with the kit. Look for the Devon flags flying.
We have taken delivery of the Hoodie and t-shirts, they look like the dog bolloxs.
If you are a Competitor or loader, when going in , tell them you are involved in the strongman and you should get in free, BUT seeing only 1 person has paid so far, and the WHOLE event is for the NSPCC and Childline, I dont think paying for entry is a bad thing anyways.

Childline is a great charity, my kids spend hours on the phone to em.............................LOL

Finally, Thanks to MIKE HOOPER AND COTLEIGH BREWERY, if it was for them , you wouldnt be getting your comp.
Oh and of course me and Ads, ;-)

So here are the events for the 2009 Cullystrongman.

It will start at 11-00 am prompt.

Event 1 - LOG LIFT - rising weight, starting at 90kg on our giant 18" dia log. Scored - Max weight obtained, last man standing.

Event 2 - DEADLIFT - 240kg deadlift on Oly bar, ( will be truck tyres on bar and competitor stood on platform ). Scored - max no of reps in 90 Seconds.

Rules will be in general explained by the Judge of the day. This should be a GBPF British Bench Press Champion, BUT no lifting aids will be allowed this year other then leg wraps, wrist wraps, and belts.

Suits and straps are not allowed.

Chalk and Tacky are allowed.

Ladies and Gents , after all the bad press and hard times, I have managed to pull the CULLY out of the ashes, we are back on 6TH SEPT 2009. Application forms will be avalible in the next few weeks, it will cost £15 to enter, and this will include a T- shirt as Modelled by Kieran Clarke on TV ( LOL ) .

As always, the events will not be decide until a week before the event to prevent any unfair advantage.
